Classroom Change Requests

Home Scheduling Office Classroom Change Requests
  • Room Change Request - this request is to change your classroom for the entirety of the semester. The English Scheduling team reviews these requests and sends it to be reviewed. The office that approves these sort of requests, Course and Classroom Scheduling Services (CCSS), mandates the following:
    • All room changes must meet at least one of the following approved justifications:
      1. Instructor's back-to-back classes (10-15 minutes between classes)
      2. Approved faculty accommodation
      3. Increased Seats Offered/Issued that necessitates bigger classrooms
      4. Required classroom AV or pedagogical requirements
      5. Other logistical needs (i.e. The instructor needs a general purpose classroom that is near a specific lab/studio)
    • Room Change Requests can only be sent by department schedulers, not instructors
    • Courses must fill at least 60% of the seating in the classroom. (i.e. we cannot move a 20 person class into a 60 seat room)
    • TERP Rooms are extremely limited so the instructor must use the TERP classroom technology to facilitate pedagogical teaching/learning (not just the space)

If you need a room for an event, presentation, breakout session for a class or any other purpose that meets only a few times, please email the Main English Office <englmeo@umd.edu>
