Form and Submission

Completed observations should be emailed by the observer to englmeo@umd.edu. We’ll send the observation back to you and the observer for signature via Adobe Sign

Assistant Professors

Assistant Professors should be observed by a tenured colleague at least once each semester leading up to tenure.

The observations should:

• Be of a variety of courses, both undergraduate and graduate.
• Include a variety of observers, with some continuity, e.g. it would be good to have the same colleague observe each fall while alternating who observes in the spring.

Associate Professors

Associate Professors should be observed by a full-professor colleague at least once each academic year.

The observations should:

• Be of a variety of courses, both undergraduate and graduate.
• Include a variety of observers, with some continuity, e.g. it would be good to have the same colleague observe every second year while alternating who observes the opposite years.
